A: We offer free shipping on every order via USPS First Class Mail. For faster delivery options, we've added USPS Priority Mail for a flat fee of $5.00 and Express Mail for a flat fee of $20.00.

Q: How long does it take to receive my order?

A: Our free shipping service is via USPS first class mail and can take 2-7 days depending upon your location. A: No, it is not currently set-up through the website, but if you contact me, I can look up rates and be happy to ship to Canada, but additional fees will apply.

If I receive Dee-Zigns Jewelry as a gift, can I exchange it for something else, if I'm not happy with it.

Yes, of course! If you receive a gift from Dee-Zigns Jewelry, and its not quite what you would like, I will gladly make an exchange, no questions asked. I want you wearing and enjoying your new handmade jewelry, and if you aren't happy with it, you won't wear it and enjoy it.

Q: What is Sterling Silver?

A: Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of some other metal (usually copper). Some countries require sterling silver products to be stamped .925 as verification so you may see this on the back of some silver elements. Fine Silver is 99.9% pure however fine silver is very soft and can bend and break easily. Fine silver also tarnishes easier than sterling silver. The mixture of copper in sterling silver helps to slow down the tarnishing process as well as create a more durable alloy perfect for jewelry. At Dee-Zigns we use only sterling silver in our silver pieces unless otherwise noted.

Q: What is Gold Filled?

A: 14K gold filled jewelry items have a solid layer of 14K gold bonded over a core base metal. The outer layer of gold filled items have a thick layer of solid 14K gold and will last as long as solid gold jewelry with normal wear and care. Dee-Zigns only uses 14K gold filled pieces in our gold jewelry.

Q: What is Vermeil?

A: Vermeil simply means gold plating over sterling silver. Sterling silver beads can be gold plated. This is a good way to incorporate the look of gold at a fraction of the cost especially for beads.

Q: What is Karen Hill Tribe Silver?

A: The Karen Hill Tribe is the largest of 20 distinct groups known as "hill tribes" living in the rugged highlands of Northern Thailand. Originally from Tibet, Burma and China, the hill tribes migrated to Thailand over a period of several hundred years. While some hill tribes have embraced tourism, trade and modern agriculture, the Karen people are best know for their skilled crafts, elephant training and traditional farming methods. The Karen people use traditional silversmithing techniques. Each piece is unique and tends to not tarnish as quickly as sterling silver. As with all handmade items, sizes and shapes will vary.

Q: What are Natural Gemstones?

A: A natural gemstone is a mineral, stone or organic matter which has been created in nature without any human intervention. Natural gemstones are then cut and polished for use in jewelry. Since gemstones are formed in nature, no two are exactly alike. Natural gemstones often have inclusions or imperfections which is proof of a natural gemstone. Often natural gemstones are treated to enhance the appearance of the stones and to create gemstones which are wearable. This process of treating and enhancing gemstones has existed for centuries. Heating, dyeing and irradiation treatments improve color, clarity and durability resulting in beautiful and a vibrant array of gemstones with their own unique characteristics.

Q: What stringing materials do you use in your jewelry?

A: I use Beadalon wire which is made from incredibly fine strands of stainless steel wire with a smooth, kink resistant nylon coating. It is a very strong and very flexible. For the knotted necklaces, I use C-Lon which is an extra heavy duty twisted nylon thread. It's soft like silk but doesn't have the shredding problem and is very strong. I prefer silk thread for stringing pearls and knotting pearls, but have used other materials.
